Incremental SAT Solving for SAT Based Planning
نویسنده
چکیده
One of the most successful approaches to automated planning is the translation to propositional satis ability (SAT). This thesis evaluates incremental SAT solving for several modern encodings for SAT based planning. Experiments based on benchmarks from the 2014 International Planning Competition show that an incremental approach signi cantly outperforms non-incremental solving. Although, planning speci c heuristics and advanced scheduling of makespans is not used, it is possible to outperform the state-of-the-art SAT based planning systems Madagascar and PDRPlan in the number of solved instances.

Unbounded Software Model Checking with Incremental SAT-Solving
This paper describes a novel unbounded software model checking approach to find errors in programs written in the C language based on incremental SAT-solving. Instead of using the traditional assumption based API to incremental SAT solvers we use the DimSpec format that is used in SAT based automated planning. A DimSpec formula consists of four CNF formulas representing the initial, goal and in...
متن کاملHeuristics for Planning with SAT
Generic SAT solvers have been very successful in solving hard combinatorial problems in various application areas, including AI planning. There is potential for improved performance by making the SAT solving process more application-specific. In this paper we propose a variable selection strategy for AI planning. The strategy is based on generic principles about properties of plans, and its per...
متن کاملAsynchronous Multi-core Incremental SAT Solving
Solvers for propositional logic formulas, so called SAT solvers, are used in many practical applications. As multi-core and multi-processor hardware has become widely available, parallelizations of such solvers are actively researched. Such research typically ignores the incremental problem specification feature that modern SAT solvers possess. This feature is, however, crucial for many of the ...

Boolean satisfiability (SAT) solving is one of the most competitive research areas of theoretical computer science. The performance of state-of-the-art SAT solvers has been continuously improving in the last decades and has reached a level where SAT solvers can be employed to solve real world problems in fields such as hardware and software verification, automated planning and many others. One ...
متن کاملUltimately Incremental SAT
Incremental SAT solving under assumptions, introduced in Minisat, is in wide use. However, Minisat’s algorithm for incremental SAT solving under assumptions has two main drawbacks which hinder performance considerably. First, it is not compliant with the highly effective and commonly used preprocessor SatELite. Second, all the assumptions are left in the formula, rather than being represented a...
